This and that
Words on your ass likely don’t make any sense- and they’re tacky. The Patriots are awesome, so if you love them, go Giants! Noam Chomsky is a really smart guy.

Today I saw two musical performances given by high school students that led me to believe that the shift from Modernism to Postmodernism. It was the types of performances and the fashion in which the students performed them that led me to the conclusion that these students (and perhaps kids today) intuitively understand Postmodernism and are able to synthesize it, whereas I can simply see,...

What now?
What a couple of days for Dennis Kucinich! Yesterday, he declares that he will introduce the articles of impeachment against President Bush. Then, he gets bullied into withdrawing his statement. Today, he announces that he has withdrawn from the Democratic race, and that he will not endorse another Democrat. I’m gonna miss him.

A collection of comic strips about working at the Olive Garden (funny) The planned collapse of America (scary, in theory) 5 terrifying insects (scary, in practice) I can’t wait until I buy these albums this week: Hope Waits (she does a sultry cover of Tom Waits’ Get Behind the Mule) & Yael Naim (she sings the “Mac Book Air“ song, aka New Soul) The people...

Lucky Number Slevin
Lucky Number Slevin has to be one of my favorite movies ever. I’ve listed just a few of the great quotes from the movie. There are more, to be sure. It isn’t just the quotes, though, that make the movie good. The structure is excellent, it is a good story, it has a great cast, and they reference the Shmoo. Come on. Fuck shit Jesus is right. … sometimes there’s more to...

Switch Off
It is really gratifying to walk into a room whose light you switched off when you left (but whose light was on when you entered) and then to return to that run much later to find the light off. Baby steps.

How Humble Thou Art... not →
A pretty interesting article (well, of what I have read so far), but this was a particularly spectacular line: “I pastor a multimillion dollar congregation. You’ve got to put me on a different scale than the little black preacher sitting over there that’s supposed to be just getting by because the people are suffering.”

OLPC vs. Intel, FIGHT!
Apparently, Intel and OLPC can’t find a way to get along. Intel dropped its support for the project following philsophical differences. OLPC responded  by saying that it thought children were a mission and not a market. And I just got through talking about OLPC

New Year's Horoscope (AKA, Horoscope #1)
Appreciate and learn all you can from the beautiful ruckus you’ll encounter, but preferably from a safe distance. And be protective of other people who may be more vulnerable or less alert than you.
