Tuesday: late to wake, stumbled through the day racing by me. Enjoyed Blue Water’s Bronzed Sea Bass. New YYYs album, It’s Blitz!, is here.

Sunday-Monday: the days of break, and tournament field dwindle. I appreciate the symmetry. Nice to be with the kittens again. The Show!

ck pointed me to this guy’s blog, and it has been great reading.
He doesn’t come out and say it, but I think Jonathan Chait’s piece on the Democratic congress, really puts the lie…
Saturday: Double coffee morning that had two beginnings, but ended the house-sitting and made some solid breakfast burritos. Crazy weather!

Amazing, yet a little twisted.
Friday: Not about the dog— seriously. My bracket and my Jayhawks crumble, but I’ll still be watching tomorrow. Lots of rain; lots of green.

Alright Mr. Saggy Pants, Time to go to Jail →
I mean, hopefully not, but it is hilarious that someone had to point out that it was unconstitutional. I wonder if it would apply to thongs sticking out? What about pantyhose? A stray bra strap?
Where will it end?
Thursday: slept in a bit, which was a surprise. Tournament is back; I can’t believe I picked Duke— against my nature. Break is almost over?

More on Stat(s) →
Sort of a follow-up article about basketball statistics. What’s interesting is that the author sort of comes to the conclusion that you can’t use stats to measure everything— the mark of a true stat-head.
Wednesday: a rainy day with Mr. Bond and the cats. The dog definitely needs a walk at this point. Also, Lost has taken an unexpected turn!
Tuesday: huh. The days just disappear. Did play some ultimate, though, and the hashbrowns are improving. Will I ever see Watchmen? Curious.

Monday: potato ricer, Mamacita margaritas (three, I think), and Patty Mills v. Stephon Curry were the highlights from this very lazy day.

Check out those pipes
First of all, yahoo pipes is incredible. Basically, you can drag and drop data sources (it seems like it allows for any structured data, which is incredible), and then filter, combine, sort, etc. (massage) it until you get it like you want. It is all done graphically, and it makes sense. So much so that I didn’t even really use this tutorial, though it is solid.
Second, yahoo pipes has...

Open Stats →
Bill Simmons (the Sports Guy) talking about how the best NBA stats are secrets. Pretty interesting read. Like Bill, I crave the information, but unlike Bill, I disagree that “we are all in this together.”
Sunday: Bracket is still solid, though it is funny how first instincts can be the best. The dog is letting me sleep, which is a huge plus.

More AIG gaffs.
A.I.G. is suing the government to recover over $300 million in tax breaks that the insurance company says were improperly denied. What sort of tax breaks? The sort…

Thursday-Saturday: I love how the start of Spring Break coincides with the start of The Tournament. Love it. Not much else to say, really.

53 times better than last Friday’s
Wednesday: ridiculously easy day. Got a chance to sleep in (during the school week!), brackets are done (‘ville/zags), break starts tomorrow
Tuesday: a fine day, really. It culminated in probably the best ultimate I’ve played in a while. I think I’ll be playing club come fall. Ahh
Saturday-Sunday: SAT, comments, and a whole lot of procrastinating filled my weekend. Skipped selection Sunday, but ready for the madness.
Monday: 88 and out the gate in what could turn into a shockingly short week leading into Spring Break. Early starts and dorm duty don’t mix.

Minor Annoyances
It is pronounced “turn-a-ment” or even “tour-na-ment,” but definitely not “tore-na-ment.” Yes, I realize it is somewhat of a personal preference, but this is one that really annoys me.

That’s how many words I’ve produced doing grade comments (with five remaining, actually)… ugh. I did get a chance to use the word “belie,” so that was good.
Thursday: pleasntly short day. Dinner at The Terminal, then watched one of the best college hoops games I’ve seen. Not a fan of Devendorf.
Friday: Grade comments just occupy my life! Happy it is Friday, though. Even with Saturday’s early start. Still don’t like Devendorf.
Wednesday: no good cookies, but had an excellent shake. Didn’t get to watch much basketball thanks to dorm duty. Now, about those comments.
Tuesday: busy, but it came with a handle and I grabbed it. Took the time to play some ultimate and an unfiltered wheat. There is much to do.
Monday: a good day for me. Review is done and generally successful. But, balance is omnipresent and my awareness does not make me immune.

Always be ready
You never know when you are going to have to give life advice to someone, or when you are going to realize you are actually happy for a perceived antagonist, or when the ground might crumble beneath your feet.
Sunday: A beautiful lazy Sunday. Made breakfast, watched basketball. Didn’t make it to Watchmen, but that will happen soon.
Saturday: Lots of ultimate ends in winning the B-Bracket. Meh. My Jayhawks stayed strong and wins the Big 12 again. Unexpected (4th Maybe?).

Ugh…
Friday: Nice day at SIGCSE. Ultimate tomorrow, then Duke/UNC and then maybe some Lost. Definitely going to bed early. And ice cream.

Amazing
Boo on this day. Boo.
Thursday: slept even less, then had to wake up early for a depressing meeting. At least the SIGCSE keynote was boring… (and it goes on).
Wednesday: not sleeping well, which makes the day long. Had fun at BlueJ day. My Jayhawks got a raw deal and folded. Like me at poker night
Tuesday: standard, but with less sleep. Not good. Discovered I’m bad at soccer and not a patient baseball hitter. The Show is good, however

Unfair
I don’t think it is fair that Augustus Gloop never got a band named after him.
That’s it.
Monday: after-school Cubano made my day. Former La Cosa Nostra speaker wasn’t bad either. Hey fever still dragging me down, though. Icky.
Friday-Sunday: Cold and rainy, but sinus problems all weekend are what dampened my mother’s visit. Brutal. New cleats, but no new shelves.
