I used to pay $71 for cable. Keep in mind that I don’t watch TV, I just use it for the internet. I decided not too long ago, that this was stupid. Today, since I had nothing better to do, I called and told them I wanted to cancel.
The master plan was to get wireless broadband, which was cheaper than cable, as well as more flexible. I knew, however, that when I told them that I wanted to cancel that they would do quite a bit to keep me, and so I was in a great position.
I called and just like I expected, they tried to cut me a deal. The first deal cut my monthly bill down to $50+, which is good, but not really good enough to convince me to keep it. I told them I was thinking of switching to wireless broadband. The guy said to hold on, and he came back with a $31+ deal.
