I only have a vague idea of “who” Hannah Montana is, but I have a decent idea of “what” she is, and after reading an article about a “revealing” picture that was taken of “her” I have an even better idea. Apparently, “she” is a role-model to young children everywhere who live in the suburbs and is backed by Disney. “She” also, apparently, is responsible for $1 billion in revenue for Disney by selling things like makeup, shoes, clothes.
But apparently, it is kind of big deal when a 15-year-old girl poses for Annie Leibovitz in nothing but a bedsheet. Who thought that one up, by the way? Luckily, I don’t think kids read Vanity Fair, so I am not certain what the big deal is. Besides, haven’t we seen this before? Like when a 17-year-old Britney Spears sold an album called “… Baby One More Time” where the “…” means “Hit me”
Apparently, it is news when we sexualize little girls, but not when we spend $1 billion because of them.
Parents, be better at your damn jobs.
